Setelah meluncurkan ponsel touchscreen seri music 5800, nokia kembali meluncurkan ponsel touchscreen yang kali ini dari seri N. Dengan berbasis OS Symbian terbaru(Symbian S60 5th edition) dan berbagai fitur canggih, N97 disebut sebagai pesaing kuat SE EXPERIA dan Apple iPhone.

Dengan dukungan sliding keyboard qwerty, layar berukuran 3,5 inch dan kedalaman warna 16 juta serta berbagai fasilitas multimedia, menjadikan N97 sebagai ponsel yang lengkap.
